Shinto
Shinto means roughly, “the way of the gods,” and it is the indigenous Japanese religion. Shinto centers on a reverence of all aspects of nature, including one’s ancestors. Central to this concept is the idea that all creations, inanimate and animate, have their own kami. Kami can be roughly defined as “spirits” or “gods.”
